Before we can move Jonam's machinery in, but after the builders have finished the shed we need to sort the floor. We only have a few days: let the challenge begin.

We have a few visits to check on progress, sort out drain pipes etc etc. The Shed is finished except for doors and windows. The light is at the end of the tunnel! Jonam may escape from the woefully inadequate unit soon!!! Chapel is also moving on . More light, we will be able to see stars through the sky-lights installed. Craig and Rach very kindly gave me and Jem a lift to Billinghay so we could rescue Jon's car from the pub. Many thanks to The Ship for looking after it for so long. It gave us the chance to see how things were coming along and for Craig and Rach see for first hand what we've been wittering on about for so long. Unit/big shed really has come on; we now have walls! Chapel also moving on a pace with roof and skylights being fitted and the insides progressing. Exciting day, Jon finally out of hospital and able to see the site for himself! Roof on the chapel is being tiled and a row of blocks is being put round the shed ready for the wall panels, sitting poised, to be placed on. It is all happening. The frame for the chapel is more or less finished with just a few finishing touches to go. meanwhile the shed is going great-guns, steel frame already up and then the walls and roof arrive. It is quite a procedure to remove al the pallets and getthem into the shed much shuffling of lorries, and reversing and turning of the jcb with fork-lift attachments. I thought the Moyes Tucks may be troublesome but it was a mad driver in a Golf driving under the forks that caused most concern. All proceeded well with much interest from the villagers. After all the careful preparation yesterday, the portal frame goes up very quickly today.
Meanwhile the work on the chapel plods on: |
